Juicing Why Your Dreams Are Real and Some Recovery Questions

by nina on January 26, 2013

juicing music and eating disorder recoveryToday we are going on a juicing journey, talking about why your dreams are real and remembering that ANYTHING is possible and some recovery question time.

So first off – my juice of the day – Beets Me.

Why beets me? Cos beets are awesome for your digestion and this juice is packed with a lot of other delicious and nutritious fruit like apples, carrots, strawberries, kiwi, melon and oranges.

Now I am by no means saying that all you should be doing is juicing – but juicing helps to reset your metabolism, clear up your digestive system, load you up with nutrients and clean out your system so that you can be more intuitive…

Check out the latest video on Juicing, Anything is Possible and Your recovery Questions Answered

Next up, I freaking love SONY for this awesome little flyer they snuck into my Cruel Intentions DVD…

Check it out and lets say a prayer for SONY! Your dreams are real. Anything you can imagine, you can make real.

believe in recovery

And finally we wrap this up with 2 Questions you guys have asked about becoming vegan and what to do when you don’t feel like doing any recovery actions. HINT: DO IT. Take contrary action – meaning do the opposite of what the eating disorder is telling you, Give it your middle finger and take positive action anyway.

Need some inspiration – listen to these 3 awesome tracks:

Bruce Springsteen – I’m on fire – Get fired up!!

Cher – Jesse James – pretend you are talking to your ED! “tonight you’re gonna go down in flames! Just like Jesse James…”

Françoise Hardy – Le Temps de L’Amour – (1962) – for yoga, creativity, relaxation…

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures you guys are posting on Facebook – here is one that totally rocked my world:

Dear Nina,

I have loved all your posts so much. They are a joy to read and listen to and you are truly an inspiration! I have written to you once before and appreciated your response as well. Something I want to take the time to say today has been nagging at me for probably a year or more since I have been struggling with IE. I guess I am not sure how to explain it but it goes like this…..all these IE blogs, posts seem to come from single people without kids. I wish people understood the complexities and challenges of being a thirty something Mother with two young children, a husband, career, house to maintain, etc. You just can feel very frustrated and challenged and mentally exhausted with the IE process in a different way.

Examples: I cannot “avoid” grocery stores or uncomfortable food by leaving or tuning out. I also cannot eat what I want and set a good example for my boys. Eating cupcakes for lunch is hard when your 4 and 5 year old want it..lol! I have to shop weekly if not more for food because my husband works long hours, doesn’t cook, and my kids will starve if I just decide to not have food in the house because I’m “busy” not eating when I’m not hungry. Another challenge mothers face with weight gain and those struggles is that children are CONSTANTLY hungry and asking you for food. You almost cannot believe it until you are a mother!!! Everytime I turn around someone in this house wants a snack or wants ME to come up with what to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert….it becomes your whole life to plan meals and groceries so you have things on hand to feed your family.

I only tell you this in the hopes that some other struggling mother from a typical suburban lifestyle will find me here on this post and see they are not alone. Eating intuitively is never discussed from the perspective of a mother with children to feed. You just cannot “tune” out food noise………children come with it always! Thanks for listening and no I don’t think I should use it as an excuse to give up I only wanted to let you know a perspective you may not think about being in a different life stage..thanks for all you’ve done for me and for others!
