Binge Eating and Recovery Challenges

binge eating and recoveryThis week our Q&A is about binge eating, how it manifests when you are trying to recover and the best ways to deal with binge eating episodes that affect so many in society – whether or not they have identified themselves as having an eating disorder.

According to wikipeadiaBinge eating disorder (BED) is the most common eating disorder in the United States affecting 3.5% of females and 2% of males and is prevalent in up to 30% of those seeking weight loss treatment.

It is clearly a widespread problem that is difficult to deal with because there is a lot of shame and secrecy associated with it, and many are in denial about having the disorder.

So how do you deal with binge eating episodes when you are working on your recovery?
